Vincitore di due Grammy Awards (oltre a numerose nominations nel corso degli anni), acclamato singer-songwriter, frontman degli adorati Smashing Pumpkins, William Patrick Corgan è pronto a tornare sulle scene musicali con “Ogilala”, il secondo album solista in uscita il 13 ottobre su etichetta BMG/Believe. Prodotto da Rick Rubin e registrato ai Shangri La Studios a Malibu, “Ogilala” segue “The Future Embrace”, il primo album solista di Billy Corgan pubblicato ben dodici anni fa. “Non sono mai riuscito a capire il punto di separazione tra scrivere canzoni per me e scrivere canzoni per qualsiasi band. Tutte le canzoni che scrivo le percepisco in modo molto personale. Dopo aver composto i nuovi brani chitarra e voce, mi sono messo nelle mani di Rick Rubin per portare la musica dove voleva lui, pur mantenendo una struttura molto semplice e molecolare, senza bisogno di sfarzosi ricami” – William Patrick Corgan.
“Ogilala” è anticipato da “Aeronaut”, il primo singolo disponibile in free download pre-ordinando il disco da qui. “Aeronaut” rappresenta la “semplicità” intrapresa da Billy Corgan attraverso un arrangiamento minimale ma complessivamente molto intenso.
This fall, Corgan will embark on a solo acoustic North American tour that kicks off on October 14th in Brooklyn, NY and wrap up on November 11th in Los Angeles, CA with a three night stint at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetary. These intimate performances will see Corgan perform songs from Ogilala, as well as a second set which will span works from his earliest days through his years as the frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins and beyond. Tickets for the tour are on sale this Friday August 25th at 10:00am local time and will be available HERE.

William Patrick Corgan is a singer, songwriter, producer, and frontman of celebrated alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. Formed in Chicago, IL in 1988, the band released their heralded debut album Gish in 1991 and found mainstream success with 1993’s 4x multi-platinum Siamese Dream and 1995’s 10x multi-platinum Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. Following the band’s 2000 dissolution, Corgan helmed the alternative rock band Zwan before releasing his debut solo album TheFutureEmbrace and reforming The Smashing Pumpkins in 2005. With over 30 million albums sold, the GRAMMY®, MTV VMA, and American Music Award winning band remains an influential force in alternative rock.
